Edge Trader Tools, LLC ("Edge Trader Tools", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website https://www.edgetradertools.com and the associated Advanced Trade Planner software for NinjaTrader® 8 (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your information.

By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Risk Disclosure.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account information — your email address when you sign in via magic link.
Purchase information — billing details processed by our payment provider when you buy a license (we do not store full card numbers; see Third-Party Processors below).
License activation data — a hashed NinjaTrader® 8 Machine ID associated with your license key, used to enforce the license terms in your EULA.
Support and contact submissions — the contents of any message you send through the contact form, including the email address and name you provide.
Newsletter subscriptions — your email address when you opt in to marketing emails.

Information collected automatically

Log data — IP address, browser type, language preference, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. Used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
Cookies and similar technologies — strictly-necessary cookies for authentication (magic link sessions) and a small number of analytics cookies described below. We do not serve third-party advertising and we do not place ad-targeting cookies.
Usage analytics — aggregated page views and visit duration collected by Vercel Analytics. This data is privacy-friendly: no cross-site tracking and no persistent device identifiers.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the Service — process purchases, deliver license keys, authenticate sign-ins, and enforce license terms.
To respond to support requests, contact-form submissions, and refund requests.
To send transactional email (purchase receipts, license delivery, account notifications). These are required for the Service and cannot be opted out of without closing your account.
To send marketing email — only if you have explicitly opted in via the newsletter form. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing message.
To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

Third-Party Processors

We use the following third-party services to operate Edge Trader Tools. Each processor receives only the data necessary for its function and is bound by its own privacy commitments:

Stripe — payment processing. Stripe receives your name, email, billing address, and card details directly; we do not see or store full card numbers. See stripe.com/privacy.
Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage. Hosts your account record, license keys, order history, and support submissions. See supabase.com/privacy.
Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery. Receives your email address and the contents of messages we send you. See resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Vercel — website hosting and privacy-friendly Vercel Analytics. Receives request metadata (IP, headers) for serving the site. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Google reCAPTCHA v3 — spam and abuse prevention on contact and newsletter forms. Collects browser and device signals on form pages. See policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as we need it. Specifically:

Order and license records — retained for as long as Edge Trader Tools is operated, so that we can verify your purchase and re-issue or reactivate your license throughout the operational lifetime of the Product (see Terms section 6.7). If the Product is discontinued, these records are retained for an additional 12 months and then deleted.
Financial and tax records — retained for at least four (4) years to satisfy applicable tax and financial recordkeeping obligations.
Support correspondence — retained for up to one (1) year, then deleted.
Marketing-list subscriptions — retained until you unsubscribe.
Application logs — retained for up to 90 days, then deleted or anonymized.

You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Your Rights below). Note that deleting your account will deactivate any active licenses associated with it.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements (such as financial records).
Portability — receive a copy of your information in a structured, machine-readable format.
Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any message we send.
Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

EU/UK/EEA residents (GDPR): The legal bases on which we process your information are: performance of a contract (delivering the Service you purchased), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement), consent (marketing email, where required), and compliance with legal obligations.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@edgetradertools.com from the email address associated with your account. We will respond within 30 days.

Security

The security of your information matters to us. We use TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive data, row-level access controls on our database, and limited administrative access. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that fall into two categories:

Strictly necessary — Supabase authentication cookies that keep you signed in. The Service cannot function without these.
Analytics — Vercel Analytics uses a privacy-friendly, anonymized signal to count page views. It does not set persistent identifiers and does not track you across sites.

You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but the Service will not function correctly without authentication cookies (you will not be able to stay signed in).

Children

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us so we can delete it.

International Transfers

Edge Trader Tools is based in the United States and our processors operate from data centers in multiple regions. If you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

Links to External Sites

The Service may contain links to external sites that we do not operate. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by email to account holders or by a prominent notice on the Service prior to the change taking effect. Your continued use of the Service after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.
